Have you ever wondered what it would be like to have someone by your side on your entrepreneurial journey? Imagine a trusty sidekick, like Batman and Robin or Del Boy and Rodney, and how they could support, challenge and maybe guide you to unleash your full potential?

The following is my first in a series of posts, on why you should work with a business mentor as your secret weapon to help and guide you through the mystery of running a business.

Imagine a ship’s captain leaving port without plotting a course or navigating a treacherous jungle without a map.  Both scenarios are scary and not something you would readily attempt……….one would hope!

Well, a seasoned Business Mentor will have been through it all and will have made mistakes as well as faced challenges and climbed mountains to achieve success. A Mentor will have used some form of compass, plan or map so can lead you towards that right direction based upon their own experiences; thus avoiding the pitfalls that they may have encountered themselves. They will have done it and seen it all, so please tap into their vast array of experiences to help and guide your business to the success you so desire.

Incidentally, these experiences will encompass both success and failure.  Failure in particular can lead to valuable lessons, so it’s key to embrace any setbacks they may have encountered which should lead you to make better informed decisions and sidestep unnecessary obstacles along your own entrepreneurial path.
